Celebrate with the BHF voted Site of the Week

Some great news just in - our new Celebrate with the BHF website bhf.org.uk/celebrate has been named Site of the Week this week by New Media Age magazine.

NMA is widely held to be the digital industry's leading publication, so it's a fantastic recognition. The mag said: "Overall, a good idea carried out in a simple way."

Celebrate with the BHF is an exciting way to ask family and friends to mark your special occasion - such as an anniversary, birthday or wedding - by donating to us instead of buying you a gift.

Why not take a look at it and create your own personal page? It's really simple to use and it will only take a few minutes for your page to be live on the web.

Good luck Heart Runners!

It's the BUPA Great North Run this Sunday - the world's biggest half marathon, from Newcastle to South Shields - with approximately 40,000 runners taking part.

So we wanted to take this opportunity to wish all of our BHF Heart Runners the very best of luck!

There are over 1,000 Heart Runners taking part in the 13.1-mile run on Sunday, and we'll be there to support you all.

If you are in the area, why not come along to cheer on the runners - or watch it live on BBC TV.

Well done Peter!

Congratulations to Liverpool MP Peter Kilfoyle (second from right in photo) who's completed a ten-day trek across Nicaragua to raise awareness and funds for two UK charities, of which the British Heart Foundation is one.

Peter has been sending back daily video diaries and photos to us, and you can find out how he got on here

He's also got his own sponsorship page on the BHF website to raise money for us and his other nominated charity, the Peace and Hope Trust

So why not help Peter reach his target by sponsoring him today - half the money raised will be given to the Peace and Hope Trust.
