Shiny staff get set to cycle

Good luck to all 27,000 cyclists who are this week getting ready to take part in our forthcoming 2008 London to Brighton Bike Ride, the UK's largest charity cycling event.

Two of those joining the scenic ride from capital to coast will be Kathryn Stewart and Daniel Sung (pictured right) who work for Shiny Media, a leading blog publisher with a network of 40 blogs with around 3.5 million visitors per month.

Among the Shiny stable are widely-read blogs such as TechDigest, ShinyShiny, Shoewawa, Catwalk Queen, The BagLady, Bridalwave and CorrieBlog.

Together with their fellow L2B participants, Kathryn, the Shiny Media operations manager, and Daniel, a Tech Digest writer, will be hoping that the recent hot weather is a bit kinder to them on Ride day itself as they tackle the 54-mile route.

Since 1980, when we first became involved with London to Brighton, more than 650,000 riders have taken part in the event and more than £40 million has been raised to help fund our pioneering research, patient care and vital heart health information.

We'll be featuring more L2B Bike Riders on the blog this week, but if you want to sponsor Kathryn, Daniel or any other of the participants online you can do so at www.justgiving.com/londontobrighton

And if you're also getting ready to take part in this year's Ride, or have taken part in a previous year's event, then tell us all about your experiences by posting a comment on this post.

Happy pedalling!

I'm getting ready this evening to do the big ride, start time 0700! On my own unfortunately as my ride partner came off his bike a speed last weekend, fracture dislocation to his ankle! Still I'm determined to do it and amongst 27000 people I'm sure there'll be people to ride with! Good Luck, Kirsty Hodd
